Screen Pixel Density Calculator

Pixel density equals the diagonal pixel count divided by the diagonal screen size in inches. The diagonal pixel count comes from the square root of width squared plus height squared.

Formula & method

PPI = sqrt(pixel width² + pixel height²) ÷ diagonal inches; pixels/cm = PPI ÷ 2.54.

Assumptions & limits

Use the active display’s physical diagonal and native pixel grid. Operating-system scaling and browser zoom do not change the panel’s physical density. This model assumes a rectangular display with square pixels.

Displayed results are rounded. Calculations use unrounded JavaScript numbers; small floating-point differences are possible.

Works in your browser

The interactive tool runs in a sandbox with network access blocked. ClearByte and the advertising scripts cannot read values inside it. Browser extensions and a compromised device remain outside this protection.
