Break-Even CPC Calculator
Break-even CPC equals conversion probability multiplied by contribution per conversion. At a 2.5% conversion rate and 40 contribution per conversion, the modeled ceiling is 1 per click.
Formula & method
Break-even CPC = conversion rate ÷ 100 × contribution per conversion.Worked example
| Input | Value |
|---|---|
| Conversion rate | 2.5 % |
| Contribution per conversion before ad cost | 40 ¤ |
| Result | Value |
|---|---|
| Modeled break-even CPC | 1 ¤ |
| Modeled break-even CPA | 40 ¤ |
Compare scenarios
The first input changes while the other example inputs stay fixed. These are arithmetic scenarios, not forecasts.
| Compare scenarios | Conversion rate % | Modeled break-even CPC | Modeled break-even CPA |
|---|---|---|---|
| −20% | 2 | 0.8 ¤ | 40 ¤ |
| Example | 2.5 | 1 ¤ | 40 ¤ |
| +20% | 3 | 1.2 ¤ | 40 ¤ |
Assumptions & limits
Contribution should already exclude variable product and fulfilment costs but not the click cost being tested. The model assumes a stable conversion rate and ignores uncertainty, attribution errors, fixed costs and a desired profit cushion.
Displayed results are rounded. Calculations use unrounded JavaScript numbers; small floating-point differences are possible.
Use the same currency and reporting period for every monetary input. This tool does not fetch prices, exchange rates or account data.
