Stacked Discount Calculator
Apply each discount to the price remaining after the previous one. A 20% reduction followed by 10% reduces 200 to 144, equivalent to a total reduction of 28%.
Formula & method
Final price = original × (1 − first/100) × (1 − second/100).Worked example
| Input | Value |
|---|---|
| Original price | 200 ¤ |
| First discount | 20 % |
| Second discount | 10 % |
| Result | Value |
|---|---|
| Price after both discounts | 144 ¤ |
| Total amount saved | 56 ¤ |
| Equivalent single discount | 28 % |
Compare scenarios
The first input changes while the other example inputs stay fixed. These are arithmetic scenarios, not forecasts.
| Compare scenarios | Original price ¤ | Price after both discounts | Total amount saved | Equivalent single discount |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| −20% | 160 | 115.2 ¤ | 44.8 ¤ | 28 % |
| Example | 200 | 144 ¤ | 56 ¤ | 28 % |
| +20% | 240 | 172.8 ¤ | 67.2 ¤ | 28 % |
Assumptions & limits
The model assumes both discounts are percentage reductions on the remaining item price. Fixed-value coupons, minimum-spend rules, excluded items and seller rounding can produce different checkout results. Tax and shipping are not included.
Displayed results are rounded. Calculations use unrounded JavaScript numbers; small floating-point differences are possible.
Use the same currency and reporting period for every monetary input. This tool does not fetch prices, exchange rates or account data.

Discount Price Calculator
Discount amount equals original price multiplied by the discount fraction. Subtract it from the original price to obtain the price after discount.

Tax amount equals taxable subtotal multiplied by the entered rate divided by 100. A subtotal of 250 at an assumed 8% rate gives tax of 20 and a total of 270.
